NDIS & YOU

How it works

1

Check your eligibility

Your eligibility for the NDIS is determined by several factors, including age, residential status and disability requirements. Your eligibility will be assessed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), the government body responsible for administering the NDIS.

2

Meet with a consultant and develop your plan

Firstly, you’ll have a meeting with the NDIA to develop your plan. The NDIA will look at what services you’re currently utilising and your individual requirements. Your plan will be based on your objectives, needs and goals, as well as the support and services that will best suit you moving forward. We can definitely help you prepare for this meeting.

3

Bring your action plan to life

The finalised plan will be put into action, by this we mean selecting the best provider(s) and support workers, managing your fund and implementing your ongoing plan, among many things.

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is designed to offer services and support to those with permanent and significant disabilities. It is overseen by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) which is responsible for its delivery and for regulating approved service providers to ensure quality of services and supports.

The NDIS has been established to provide individualised support for people with disability and their families and carers. Resources are allocated to enable assistance with fulfilling the needs of people with a disability and connecting them to the most appropriate and affordable services. It fosters participants’ choice and control helps them to live the most independent, quality lifestyle possible.

As an approved NDIS provider, Metrocare Services seeks to partner with participants and their families and carers to offer a wide range of funded supports and services provided by qualified, skilled and dedicated staff.
